3DMasterKit Home vs Competitors: Which Desktop 3D Kit Is Best?

Quick Start: 5 Tips to Get Perfect Prints with 3DMasterKit Home

1. Level the bed precisely

  • Why: Proper bed leveling ensures the first layer adheres evenly.
  • How: Use a feeler gauge or paper at four corners and center; adjust until slight friction is felt. Re-check after the first print lines.

2. Optimize first-layer settings

  • Why: A strong first layer prevents warping and failed prints.
  • How: Set first-layer height to 0.2–0.3 mm (or 100–150% of normal layer height), slow first-layer speed (15–25 mm/s), slightly higher extrusion (105–110%) and a heated bed at filament-recommended temperature.

3. Tune print temperature and cooling

  • Why: Correct temperature prevents stringing, under-extrusion, and layer adhesion issues.
  • How: Start with manufacturer-recommended temps, then print a temperature tower or test cubes in 5°C steps. Use cooling fan on for PLA after first 2–3 layers; reduce for ABS/ASA to improve layer bonding.

4. Calibrate extrusion and filament handling

  • Why: Accurate extrusion eliminates over/under-extrusion and dimensional errors.
  • How: Measure and mark filament, command 100 mm extrusion, measure actual extruded length and adjust E-steps or extrusion multiplier. Store filament dry and use a filament guide/spool holder to prevent tangles.

5. Use slicer profiles and test prints

  • Why: A tuned profile saves time and produces predictable results.
  • How: Start with the 3DMasterKit Home default profile, then run calibration prints: 20 mm cube, retraction tower, overhang test, and bridging test. Adjust retraction, print speed, and acceleration based on results.

Quick checklist before each print: clean the bed, preheat nozzle/bed, load filament, run an extrude test, and inspect the first-layer squish.
